ICS Service Solutions unveils Renewed Reconciliation Action Plan, deepening our commitment to a shared future

ICS Service Solutions (ICS) today announced the launch of its Renewed Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), a testament to the company’s enduring dedication to reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This renewed Reflect RAP signifies a crucial step in the ICS journey, building on historical values of diversity, multicultural employment, inclusiveness, and transparency.

ICS Chief Executive Officer Darren Boyd articulated the profound significance of this initiative for the company and the communities in which it operates.

“Today, I am proud to introduce our renewed Reconciliation Action Plan, a crucial step in our ongoing commitment to reconciliation,” Mr Boyd stated.

“This RAP builds upon our previous efforts and reflects our deepened understanding of the importance of genuine engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We are dedicated to learning from this history and actively contributing to a more equitable future.”

Mr Boyd emphasised that the RAP is “not merely a document; it is a testament to our commitment to building meaningful relationships, fostering cultural understanding within our organisation, and creating real opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.”

Operating a large geographical footprint across Australia, ICS recognises its unique position to drive positive change and the Reflect RAP is designed to translate the company’s core values into tangible actions, including:

  • quantifying and increasing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment,
  • strengthening vital partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations,
  • and embedding comprehensive cultural awareness training throughout its workforce.

Supporting this commitment, Reconciliation Australia CEO Karen Mundine congratulated ICS Service Solutions on their continued reconciliation journey.

She underscored the RAP program’s strength in fostering relationships, respect, and opportunities, aligning strategic commitments with business objectives to contribute towards the five dimensions of reconciliation: race relations, equality and equity, institutional integrity, unity, and historical acceptance.

Further demonstrating its dedication, ICS is proud to announce Aunty Pam Pedersen as its RAP Ambassador. A revered Yorta Yorta Elder, Koorie Court system advocate, and acclaimed sportsperson, Aunty Pam follows in the footsteps of her distinguished parents, Pastor Sir Douglas Nicholls and Lady Gladys Nicholls.

Her extensive experience in community leadership, particularly with young people in the justice system, and her lifelong commitment to advocacy and sport, embodies the spirit of inspiration and action.

Through this Reflect RAP, ICS commits to furthering reconciliation via regular reporting to Reconciliation Australia and the ICS Board, active engagement with First Nations stakeholders for guidance, ongoing mentoring from Aunty Pam, and developing comprehensive cultural awareness training across the business.
